Most of our children *really* enjoy crayons and markers and paper. We keep a large stack of coloring books on hand, as well as blank paper, and, well, we go through crayons quickly. You see, the babies like them too, just not for coloring. There is something they find extremely satisfying in the feel of a crayon snapping in their fingers, and once they're broken, they're *so* much harder to keep up with. I haven't figured out why yet, but it is a definite fact.
